Norfolk Island Tourism Award Winner 2008

Norfolk & Pacific Holidays have won the prestigious 2008 Gold Award in the wholesaler category of the Norfolk Island Tourism awards held 10 November 2008 at the Governors Lodge Resort, Norfolk Island.

Set up by Norfolk Island Tourism to encourage higher standards and to recognise tourism as the island's major export earner, a little over 10 per cent of Norfolk Island's population turned out for a glittering night of nights and more than 40 businesses submitted entries for these second annual tourism awards. The awards showcase Norfolk Island Tourism's commitment to excellence in the tourism sector with judging carried out by independent, off island experts to ensure impartiality.

The much sought after award for the Wholesaler category recognises innovation and an entrepreneurial approach to marketing Norfolk Island and Norfolk and Pacific Holidays were placed first amongst eleven submissions.

In his acceptance speech new owner Mat Christian-Bailey, himself a Norfolk Islander, reiterated the commitment Norfolk & Pacific Holidays has as major wholesaler to ensure travellers experience the best of what this beautiful destination has to offer and the continued building of a long term, sustainable tourism industry.

Entering it's 10th year of operation, Norfolk & Pacific continues to improve both the product range being offered to Norfolk Island, with recent additions including the advertising of photography tours, soft adventure options, luxury packages, short breaks and value added holidays, as well as operational improvements including back office upgrades, improvement of online solutions for information and the employment of key staff & consultants to ensure future progression.
